‘La Nympha Segregata’ is an exhibition proposal to showcase works by Jurgen Ots and Kjersti Andvig in four sites in Tivoli: Villa d’Este, its garden, the Santuario d’Ercole Vincitore and the Antiquarium. The extension of the sites, as well as their fragility and importance, shaped the narrative of the exhibition: rather than in a pathway, the artworks are introduced as single episodes, in a questioning and disruptive relationship with the context, for the way they add into the play of references and symbols of Tivoli. In the complexity that makes up tivolian landscape, a contradiction exist in its metabolism, being those places often flattened as backgrounds. Because of the nature of the works of the artists, and their archivist approach, 'La Nympha Segreata' challenges this tension, including artworks that inglobates additional external references, scales and stories, that can either be consumed as the rest or trigger a question to the digestive process itself.
